My other Valentine

Since Dusty had to work on Valentines Day Jaime asked me to go and see a movie and grab some dinner. I realized I don't have enough pictures of Jaime on my blog so here we are together

We went to go and see Valentines Day, it was good. I would defiantly rent it, I wouldn't spend my money to go and see it. Just wanted to tell Jaime thanks for being my Valentine and making sure that I didn't sit home alone on Valentine's Day!

MY Valentines

This year we celebrated Valentines on Saturday since Dusty had to work on Sunday. We started our morning out with hiking to the top of Camelback Mountain. We have both wanted to do this since we moved here and have never done it...and now I know why. WOW! The hike is only about a mile and a half but it is basically straight up the mountain. I always see on the news how people loose their way and end up getting lost and have to get rescued off of Camelback, and now I know how that could happen.

It was fun the weather was perfect around 68 degrees, I even got a little sun. I could feel my butt getting smaller as I hiked :)

These are the two mountains we hiked...ok they look kinda like hills from here but trust me they were intense!

Our "RUGGED" terrain
This is looking down from the top of the mountain into Scottsdale...ahh it looks so nice

This is looking down form the top of the mountain looking down into Phoenix, no wonder everyone loves Scottsdale :)

We weren't the only one's that had the idea to go hiking, all the others that made it to the top with us.

Not looking so great., but hey we made it!

For lunch we went to this cute little mexican restaurant in Old town Chandler called El Zocalo it was so good, it is in Phoenix Magazine for the best Mexican food. I recommend it, we sat on the patio the weather was perfect!

I had the Carne Asada Torta it was very good

Dusty had the taco's they were so good he wouldn't put them down even for me to take a picture of them

Jury Duty...follow up

Well I did my duty as a citizen. The day before you are suppose to show for jury duty you have to call a number and make sure your group is called. When I called the number it said that I needed to call back the following day at 11AM to see if I would be needed. So I did, and of course I had to go.

So I had to drive down town, park my car, take a shuttle and then arrive at the courthouse. I checked in at 1 and then sat around doing my word searches because the gas station I went to to buy a magazine didn't have anything interesting I wanted to read so I got a word search...I felt like I was 70, but I did enjoy it. I sat around for about an hour when they called my name to head up to a courtroom.

Getting to the courtroom and there were about 45 of us up there that went in and had to answer all of their questions and then tell them what we do for a living, what our spouse does for a living, how many kids we have, what our hobbies are, what books we like to read, and what is interesting about us. then we took a 40 minute break for them to decide their jury. I had a feeling I was going to get picked...I just knew it. The dude on trial kept staring at me and making me feel really uncomfortable. He was creepy looking.

Once we got back in they picked their people, and I was not one of them :) so a word of advice if they start asking questions don't answer. The people that got chosen for the jury were the ones that kept voicing their opinions and saying "Oh yeah that happened to me." I just sat there and didn't say anything. I answered the questions honestly but I guess my life isn't really that dramatic.

The guy was being charged with stabbing a police officer. I am glad that his jail time wasn't something that I had to judge.

Pizza Nite

I have been meaning to post these...last Friday we had pizza and game night at our place and of course Dusty cooked. He came up with some delicious homemade pizzas that I recommend you all try out. I am getting hungry just looking at them again.

This was a pineapple, jalapenos, mozzarella and pizza sauce

Kinda dark but this was onions, sausage, mozzarella and pizza sauce

and I must say my favorite was this it had a olive oil sauce with tomatoes, basil and mozzarella

JURY DUTY

OH yes, I get to go to Jury Duty AGAIN! I think I am the only person in this county that gets called for jury duty this often. It never ends. Dusty hasn't been called once for jury duty and I have been summoned four times! Cross your fingures that my group doesn't get called and I don't have to go :)
