Wow, I can't believe it has been 3 years ago that we lost Cory. We miss and think of him everyday, and it makes me happy to know that he knows we love him so much. Cory went to Brazil for his mission and so Dusty takes this time to cook Brazilian food...and it is always so good :)

Rodizio (Brazilian BBQ); Linguisa, bacon wrapped turkey, Parmesan crusted sirloin, and grilled pineapple.

Gotta have some carbs...Dusty loves eating everything peasant style so you rip a piece of bread and then grab some meat and then dip it in the sauce.

Dusty came up with this dipping sauce.....which like everything else was very good. It had miracle whip, A-1 sauce, paprika, mustard and not sure what else

Kim and Mike's Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

It is almost the big day..this Saturday 12-11-10 and our really good friends Kim and Mike will be gettin Hitched! Last night was their rehearsal dinner at her parents house, they had Mexican food and margaritas...so good!

Kim's dad use to be in a Christian Rock band, and they put the band back together to sing at the dinner, they are huge Catholics and so it was very interesting to listen to the music.

Tomorrow they are getting married, wedding is at 2 in a Catholic church. I am excited since I have never been to a Catholic church wedding and I can't wait to see what all goes on.

Dusty's Birthday

Poor Dusty kinda got skipped over as far as Birthday's go...besides our move that was just a few days before his Birthday I have been preparing for finals in school.

The night before his birthday we decided to go and get dinner just the two of us, we don't have kids and you would think that going to date night would happen often but it doesn't. It seems that every time we go out we are with someone.

Thanksgiving Break

This past Thanksgiving we were able to have Dusty's parents come and visit. They were here for a whole week, and we tried to fit in as much as possible.

Thanksgiving dinner was somewhat early in the day this year compared to years past, Dusty had to work at 3:30 so he got up early with his dad and started cooking. Vada, Jaime and I all helped by cleaning up and I made some pies. You know the easy ones that you just add milk to the pudding mix and then dump it in a pie crust...yeah those are my specialty!

MoVeD :/

I hate moving, I am not sure I know anyone who likes to move...if so I don't think I want to be their friend because I never want to help them move. Well we have moved, we are getting settled and between moving and finishing up my semester at school I think my therapy this week has been blogging...so excuse my thousand posts because they are helping me get through it all.

We moved in with Dusty's little sister Jaime, it is a nice condo and a great location by the Superstition Springs Mall. I can't complain my drive to work is about 2 mins at the most and that is if I hit the one red light, and we are located next to a mall a dream that has always been in the back of my head since I was a kid when I would ride the bus to the mall. We parted with a few things that have been with us for a while but we really don't have the room for it here, who am I kidding we hardly have room for us here. We went from a 3 bedroom house with a two car garage to a one bedroom with a one car garage that is full of all our crap. We will get through it and it will be worth it...I repeat that often. Anyways, back to the books, finals are on the 13th and then I'm done for a month hopefully then I can get the place organized!

Toilet

Why am I blogging about a toilet I am sure you are all asking??? Well the other day we went to dinner at this restaurant and they had the coolest (well actually the warmest) toilets and it reminded me of Dusty's Papa and his obsession with toilets. So I had to get some pictures. I came out of the toilet and showed Dusty my photo's, he thought I had lost it, and then I reminded him that Papa loves toilets and I wanted him to see the pictures.

This is the control unit, if you look closely you can see the man sitting on the toilet and the different temperature settings. Very COOL or HOT toilet and who wouldn't want a toilet seat warmer? I sure do!

Turkey Trot 10K

On Thanksgiving Morning Becky and I ran the Turkey Trot, I was so happy she was here cause I am pretty sure I wouldn't have done it without her. We did the 10K which is just over 6 miles, yeah before this the furthest I had ran was around 2.5 miles. I think time doesn't matter the important part is that I finished ;)

I decided that I have no desire to do a half marathon, I use to before this race but not now. I am good with 10k's.

Our Futon

Many of you who know us know our Futon, haha that is the only piece of furniture Dusty brought into the relationship. Dusty bought the futon in 2001 right before we got married when he moved into his first apartment in Arizona. His apartment complex was called Colores Del Sol off of Mesa Dr and McKellips.

Well yesterday we said goodbye to the futon, it has done a good job over the 9+ years that we have owned it. The people that ended up buying it asked if it could be delivered, it was one less thing that we had to find room for so we said yes. Well when I called the people to get directions they gave me the address, I asked them what the apartment complex was called cause the address was all to familiar. They lived in Colores Del Sol.

Needless to say, we are very pleased that the futon found its way back home to Colores Del Sol.

Learnin' the Two step!

Our friends Kim and Mike are getting married in 20 days. They thought it would be fun if a group of us took a dancing class to learn the two step so we can show off our dancing skills at their wedding. So yesterday afternoon 9 of us went down and learning how to dance.

It was a lot of fun, not sure I could dance it again but maybe once I hear the music it will all come back to me. Here is some video footage I got, I had to sit out at the end because I was getting to dizzy.

ZUMBA

Zumba: A fusion of Latin and International music, this class combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that are not only fun, but easy to do.

Yeah...I am not sure I believe that class description of Zumba, well mostly the EASY TO DO PART. Yesterday I tried my first Zumba class, I have so many friends who go on and on about how awesome it is. Well DUH...I don't think I burned off the calories that I gained from the piece of gum I was chewing. Well it could have been that I spent half the class standing there because I had no idea what was going on, that must have been it, because everyone else in there seemed to be breaking a sweat. I'm still trying to decide if I will be returning to a Zumba class. I just think that if I am spending an hour at the gym I better be breaking a sweat, and I am just not sure I have the patience's to keep trying to get my sweat on!

Park Day

Yesterday we decided to take the dog to the park. We must be bad dog parents because after having Cortez for almost 5 years we have never taken him to a park. For good reason though, he hates other dogs and doesn't care for a lot of people. So we decided to just take him to the park by our house and let him run free without his leash. Once we got there and took his leash off we soon found out that we had a lame and lazy dog. All he did was sit there and eat the grass and lay on the picnic blanket.

We even had a Frisbee and a ball that we were throwing back and forth but no he wanted nothing to do with that. What have we taught our dog in the 5 years that we have owned him? To sit and eat? It was a sad moment for Dusty and I. I think we are going to be better dog parents and make sure our dog is active. I didn't take any pictures, well mostly because I was embarrassed that all my dog was doing was eating or laying down.

HCG

Well I started the HCG diet! and I am very excited about it! Since January I have been working my butt off at the gym and have toned up but the scale still read the same. In August I started "The Butt Book", and with that a diet. I lost about 8lbs and then once my body got use to eating good it decided that it didn't want to lose any more weight.

I had heard a lot about the HCG diet, I have had several friends who stuck to it have lasting results and look great. After I researched it for a while I decided it would be a good idea to try it. And if it doesn't work, I guess my body is just meant to be this size. Almost done with week one of a three week process, and I am happy so far with the results.

This year we had a Halloween party at our house, and it was a blast. We made my mom's homemade chili and that took a few days and then Dusty decided to have chili cheese dogs which were delish!

Kim's Shower/Bachelorette Party

Last Saturday was my really good friend Kim's Shower/Bachelorette Party. When I first got the invite I thought it was a little weird to be doing both on the same day back to back, but it actually worked really well and we all had a blast!

She is getting married 12-11-10, and she is obsessed with Christmas so everything at her parents was decorated for Christmas everything down to the Santa sugar cookies. We had d
inner, played some games, and opened presents. Dinner was so good and everything was just perfect.
